Hey this is a fun little device! But I'm wondering if you can modify it so that it doesn't hijack Ableton's undo/redo history with the text boxes that update each time you enter text. Thanks!

Wow, to anyone looking to experiment with this, BEWARE:
It wasn't malicious, but this is the first time I've had an M4L device totally hijack all of my GPU resources and lock down Ableton entirely. The GUI window in the foreground refused to go away, and I couldn't click behind into anything else within Ableton. Despite the Ableton not technically hitting the "Not Responding" state, I had to force close it in Task Manager because my fan was ramping up to almost 100% and things were getting HOT.
There are NO safeties on this device. Tinker at your own peril.
Also, this is mostly just a visualization wrapped in an endless and constantly restarting Game of Life. I was hoping this was more of a unique way to interact with the OG Game of Life, but it really really isn't.

Yo thanks for the update, no more hung MIDI notes! Jamming with it's working without a hitch now. Looking forward to more updates!
Ayyyy this is really neat! Fun to interact with and design a little top-line to play over some chords. Wondering if it's possible to add a couple things in an update:
1) Is it possible to make all the individual coordinates on the grid mappable? Like, I'd like to be able to adjust some routes on the fly without needing to grab my mouse and clickclickclickclick to get the direction I want. (Bonus points if you can make columns and rows mappable on top of that!)
2) Can you fix the "MIDI off" so that it triggers more reliably when one of the sequencer dots is deactivated? Like, at the moment, there seems to be about a 50-50 chance for a note to hang and keep playing as if it's still held down when I turn off a color dot. Kinda hurts the playability of the whole thing when you gotta stop the transport or send a panic message or whatever.
Other than that, it's all great fun. Thanks!

I use a couple similar sequencer devices I grabbed your device and it wasn't the type I was looking for. But turns out, I REALLY like your version of this type of sequencer, and I've been using it regularly despite originally not expecting to. I really dig the font and color choice for the buttons and grids, and how unlike so many other devices, the theming and layout works without needing a "pop out and expand" type of function (although one wouldn't be unwelcome). Everything is arranged tightly without being claustrophobic and cluttered, and the various UI feedback changes when navigating the menus is a huge help without being in the way.
So yeah, I'm loving your device. I'm wondering a couple things:
1) Could you make it so that the buttons and commands and everything are all MIDI/Key/macro mappable? I like the Record feature for mapping a sequence, but I'd like to sometimes map the step button to a controller key and step through adding the notes as I go without worrying about timing. (I'd also like to just map all the commands to my controller to switch other things up on the fly--I like customizing my devices and integrating them into my controller workflow.)
2) Could you add a true MIDI Thru mode? Specifically one that can be toggled without totally deactivating the device (like I'm doing now when I want a Thru mode) but also without affecting the sequence steps when in Record mode.
Thanks again for releasing this thing!
