Thanks for this, it's very cool. One feature that's missing for me though (and I hope would be really easy to implement) is a built in 'on / off' button.
In other words, a button you have to be holding down to activate the repeat. This is how the function operates on MPCs / Push / Isla S2400, etc. and allows live performance of the repeats but also the original full length notes to play when you release the repeat button. Without it, this is a cool compositional MIDI effect, but not a jamming / live performance tool. Which is a shame and a waste of a great device.
At the moment the best workaround I have is to assign a button to the device bypass switch, but that's not at all the same thing at all as you have to perfectly time the tapping-to-bypass-the-device with the other hand which is playing notes. Instead, the repeat function needs to activate only when a button / key is pressed (perhaps an assignable MIDI key?) and the deactivate the moment the button / key is released.
