| Description: | Fragmenta is a Max for Live MIDI sequencer designed around the idea that interesting music comes from controlled unpredictability. It gives you four independent parameter lanes — Pitch, Octave, Duration, and Velocity — each with its own range, direction, and randomization controls, all locked to a scale and root of your choice. Step sequencing, taken further Up to 128 steps per sequence. Most sequencers give you 16 or 32 and call it done. Fragmenta lets phrases breathe, develop, and evolve over long stretches before repeating — or never repeat at all. Per-step note length Every step carries its own gate value — how long the note actually sounds before the next one hits. The difference between a step that breathes and one that punches. The result is phrases like daaa — da — da — d — d — daaaa — daaaaaaaa — da — d — daa rather than the metronomic on-grid feel of most sequencers. Combined with the Duration lane's Min/Max range and randomization, no two runs through the sequence hit the same way. Polyrhythm built in The Multiplier sets your step rate from 1 to 16, independently of Ableton's transport grid. Run your pitch lane at one speed and your velocity lane at another. Patterns drift against each other naturally — no manual offset needed. Per-parameter control Each lane has its own Min/Max range, direction (forward, backward, shuffle, random), and a randomize button. You're not programming one sequence — you're programming the boundaries within which the sequence generates itself. Scale-aware pitch Pitch values are degree-based, quantized to your chosen root and scale. Everything stays musical regardless of how much randomization you introduce. 44 storable patterns Save up to 44 distinct variations directly inside the device. Switch between them live, use them as building blocks, or let them accumulate as a session develops. What it sounds like Broken rhythms. Phrases that almost repeat but don't.
