Device Type: | MIDI Effect |
Description: | Editor for the Yamaha FB-01. Allows to control the synth parameters via Sysex messages. Currently only sends parameter values, without reading the current state of the machine. So all parameters of the current voice are overwritten. Just drop the device onto a MIDI track and select the MIDI channel of the device. Changelog: 1.1 * AR knobs were swapped for operators 3 and 4 in previous version * changed order of operators (OP1 is now the one Yamaha calls OP1 in the manual) |

wow definitely interested, cause i will buy an FB! Has someone some experience to share about this device? Do the parameters work in real time or its like usual dx7 where even a slight change of a parameter implies a full new patch delayed load?
thanks!
thanks!

Hey Hillbuk,
I never owned a dx7, so I can't tell the difference, but you can definitely change parameters while something is playing. Not sure though whether the changes are applied to a note that's currently playing, but at least for the next note the changes are applied.

Hey man, did you see this document?

I'm getting some pretty buggy behavior with this amxd, can't figure out where the problem originates right now. Still, I absolutely adore you digging into this highly underrated synth.

Hello and thanks a lot for this !
However, I can't make it work ... Been days I try to figure out what the problem could be but can't find what it is .
I can dump sounds, the machine receives, I can play them through a keyboard and an ableton track, downloaded the editor, opened it well in my live 9, I set the midi channel but... Doesn't work ... Any clue about an fb-01 or ableton setup that I may have missed ?
Thanks a lot, this module is great and exciting news !!!

Hi Jannis,
Are there any settings need to be done, before it can be used, like Midi buffer seeting?
It seems like Yamaha FB01 is not able to handle your application. When I send CC from Max4Live, then the device freeze and I have to reboot it.
