Description: | Little Fuse v1.0 - Hearing and equipment protection utility. Just put it on a master track and set the maximum allowed volume level. If the input volume exceeds the desired threshold, the audio will be automatically muted, and (optionally) Live's playback will be stopped. Thank you. Great little tool. Actually I was working on something similar but I was never happy with the result. However, is there a way to only lower the volume by -12db when the input hit the threshold? I find this more comfortable then a complete mute. Thanks

distantnoise, thanks for your feedback! I also considered this approach with lowering the volume. But I didn't add it in the end because it definitely won't work if one of the plugins starts behaving incorrectly (like dividing by zero or a very small floating point number), which may lead to arbitrary loud volume levels (e.g. +100db). This can especially happen during sound design sessions and using plugins not exactly as the developer intended, like putting one in a feedback loop

Hey, this is cool! Have you considered adding DC offset detection as well? I think it might be nice to have significant DC offset trigger the fuse if it sticks around for a few moments.
