Name/Version: M4L XY Circle Control 2.0
Author: egnouf
Description: XY Circle Control V2.0 (21th march 2015)
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

*** UPDATE V2.0
*** You can RECORD your OWN MOVEMENTS !!!!

A little patch that simulates the Octatrack morphing cross fader effect A/B.

I explain:
- With XY Circle Control you can map up to 8 parameters in ableton live & control their values with a mouse, a joystick, etc. You will see that there is a morphing effect between the values, parameters, etc... exactly like on the Octatrack.

It gives you just fantastic new EFFECTS! Terrific in Live situation :-)

Big thanks to Cosmod & Ableton live, I just took their codes & tried to make a new patch using their excellent work!

** Use this patch to create very nice new effects :-)

This is a great device, but I'm having problems controlling the X and Y sliders with any MIDI CC controllers. They map fine, but the values of X and Y jump straight from 0.0 to 1.0 with nothing in between. Is there any easy way to get this to work?

oki, I will check. I come back asap with a new version :-)

bug corrected :-) (well I hope ;-) )
enjoy!

Oh no! Thanks for trying to fix it so quickly, but it's actually broken it a bit more! It still jumps between 0 and 1, but now the using the X and Y sliders doesn't move the point on the interface at all (you *can* move the point on the map by clicking and dragging it with the mouse & the X/Y sliders register the movement correctly, but if you try to use the sliders to move the point around the map, the point doesn't move at all).

Hope that makes sense! Sorry for causing you problems! :-)

I may be wrong :-) but let me explain:
- In fact, under the button MidiMap you have X and Y boxes. - Map these two boxes X and Y on your favourite midi controller. For me, I map these two red boxes on my Bitstream joystick.
- Then click on 'midimap' on the device.
- play with you controller!

I could not map the X and Y boxes next to the circle area :-( everytime I tried to correct the code, map my controller to this boxes, I get 0 or 1 !!!

So I decided to create this two other red boxes... simply map your controller on thoses boxes (red) and only those boxes.

Tell me if I am not clear, tell me if it solves your issue. Really don't hesitate :-)

That's it! Fantastic - I hadn't even noticed the new X and Y boxes in the right-hand corner, and as you'd guessed, I was trying to map to the boxes next to the circle area. I feel like such a fool, lol. :-).

Thanks very much for the quick fix and for the awesome device. I think I'd better donate something now, since I'm going to be using this a LOT.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your donation! thanks!

Man this thing is cool, great job!
